Metadata Maintenance
Official definition of the GPS Metadata:-
"Information about the GPX file, author, and copyright restrictions goes in the metadata section. Providing rich, meaningful information about your GPX files allows others to search for and use your GPS data. "
This screen is accessed from the main form using "Edit | Author details...". Any information entered here, is stored for all future editing sessions and by default, will be written to any GPX files you create.
The form to the right, is accessed via "Edit | File details..." and is only accessible when a file is open. NOTE: The information is NOT saved for future editing sessions. By default, the information written to your GPX files, is derived from a combination of your stored "AUTHOR" details and the FILE/COPYRIGHT details found in the last opened GPX file. The tab "Metadata from last GPX file opened" preserves this information in a read-only form.
All of this information can be overwritten if desired. Its meaning, as defined by the GPX schema, is described below:- |
